Rescue & Restore Team - FAQs
We begin working together with you and all involved authorities immediately to carefully establish a safe and effective plan.
Since you know most about your child, we rely on you to assist us with the most valuable details as we gather intelligence in preparation of our mission.
With any successful mission, a multidisciplinary approach works best. With that said, the number of trained specialists involved depends on a number of factors.
A local mission or one where the missing child isn’t believed to be endangered (where the child is at high risk of harm and/or in immediate danger) can often be carried out by 1-2 agents.
More complicated scenarios, such as traveling to another country or rescuing a child from a suspected trafficking ring, often require additional agents.
Once the extraction plan is in place, it is important that you do not do anything to alert the suspected abductor(s).
Do not change your habits, and do not ask too many questions about their activities.
Behaving differently than normal increases the possibility that our rescue team could be discovered by the subjects.
Our rescue missions are always conducted in cooperation with local governing authorities.
When missing children are rescued, they are under jurisdiction of the country where they are rescued and they are placed into state custody.
Our work is not done when someone has been rescued; we continue to work with the authorities to place the brave survivors in safe homes, rehabilitation programs and orphanages which are vetted and pre-selected by Extract Effect.
If family can be located, and it is proven that the family was not complicit in the abduction/trafficking, it is our priority to have children returned home to be with their family.
Criminals are arrested, tried in court and sentenced.
We follow this process every step of the way to make sure they will never kidnap or harm children ever again.
We provide all work product and evidence to local authorities to assist with the prosecution of the perpetrators.
Each situation is different depending on travel, research, sting set-up, working with governments, aftercare and recovery, etc., but on average one operation can cost anywhere between $5,000-$75,000 and each operation can save anywhere from 1 to 50+ children.
- Informants and local contacts may be more comfortable providing information to a rescue team, as opposed to uniformed or plain clothes officers.
- Extract Effect’s recovery specialists are not handcuffed by internal politics and bureaucracy.
Extract has the latest state-of-the-art technology at its disposal for tracking, locating, intelligence analysis, etc.
- Calling us will allow your delicate situation to be handled efficiently by expertly trained investigators, intelligence officers and rescue professionals who can work alongside the police and proper authorities to locate and bring home your child.
Absolutely! Notifying your local authorities should be the first thing you do.
But law enforcement agencies have a very specific procedure for handling lost child investigations, which varies by jurisdiction, and this may limit their ability to dedicate resources to locating your loved one.
Our network has access to pertinent resources in the necessary jurisdictions who are knowledgeable about the local policies and procedures.
Call the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Hotline at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678).
It is secure, anonymous and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
There are ample opportunities to be able to help, depending on your preference and situation.
